Drop 14 pounds in 7 days? Really?

I just tried a diet plan that made just that promise ... lose 14 pounds in 7 days.

To say I was skeptical would be an understatement in the extreme.

14 pounds in 7 days is A LOT of poundage to drop and not a whole lot of time to lose it in.

But I tried it, and it does work. But don't think this is some inane testimonial. The plan does work, but it isn't easy or for the feint of heart.

If you need to lose some serious weight, and quickly. This might be the thing for you.

It's based on the old "cabbage soup" thing that went around the internet for a while, but this is sort of a new and GREATLY improved version of it.

And while it doesn't utilize exercise, it does utilize "aerobic breathing" as sort of a catalyst to make it all work better.

Let me say this, the plan really does work (at least it did for me). But you won't want to look at another bowl of soup for quite a while after your first week on this thing either. You can find out more about the plan at this site Here.

If you need (or simply want) to lose a lot of weight in a very short period of time, this is probably exactly what you've been looking for.

Hey, even if you're simply interested in losing weight, it can't help to have a look. Click Here Now.

If you aren't down right pissed off, you should be!

I'm sitting here absolutely FUMING!

It's gotten to be a given that diet and weight loss companies lie to us all with wild and reckless abandon.

I get that.

But what about "experts" in the field? What about doctors? How could THEY possibly be so ... well, down right totally and completely CLUELESS!

Or are they all just stupid, I can't decide.

I was thumbing through some old issue of some muscle magazine while in the doctors office (waiting of course), when I came upon an article about this woman who had a body fat percentage of something like 6%.

To give you an idea of how little body fat that is for a woman, there are anorexics with body fat percentages higher than that.

As I read the article, I thought for sure this woman had to be on some strange cabbage diet or something to have so little body fat.

Oh, but before I go on, let me say this ... she was GORGEOUS. She had toned muscles, a sparkle in her eyes that you CERTAINLY don't see in someone starving to death ... and she exuded energy even in the photographs.

Anyway, it turns out that her diet ... her "I need to lose fat for a photoshoot" diet ... consists of ...

Get THIS!

Four Thousand Calories.

And it's more than that "normally".

Understand what this means.

This woman has developed a lifestyle that allows her to lose weight while seemingly GORGING HERSELF on a diet of 4,000 calories.

I was stunned.

As I kept reading, I learned why it was that she consumed so many calories.

How would you like to be able to eat like that? Imagine eating a diet of 4,000 calories and still losing weight like there was no tomorrow.

Obviously that isn't a starvation diet!

The article talked about why she had such an incredible diet.

No, there wasn't some goofball medical "problem" or anything like that.

It's what she was doing that made it so her body simply burned up A LOT of calories.

And I'm going to talk about it in tomorrow's posting.

Don't Drown!

We are constantly being inundated with the need to drink water. A lot of water.

I've seen "experts" talk about the need to drink water, and I'm not kidding, by the GALLON!

Yes, drinking a lot of water is helpful, and if you can drink that much in a day, you'll certainly help your weight loss activities and in general help your body to be healthier.

What these so-called experts fail to tell you though is that the "water" you drink doesn't just have to be water.

For starters, you should be drinking a MINIMUM of 8 ounces of milk a day. That then becomes 8 less ounces of water you need. Your body uses calcium to assist in brain function AND in mulscle function. You will actually lose weight faster if you drink enough milk (which is actually more like 16 ounces a day). That's because your muscles will be running better and burning more calories.

Then of course there is Crystal Lite. I wish it weren't quite so pricey, but the stuff is good. Even my kids like it.

My point here is that you do want to drink a lot of FLUID, but that fluid does not have to be simply water.

That doesn't mean you want to go out by 2 litre bottles of soda either. Remember above when I was talking about calcium. Carbonated water strips calcium from your blood supply ... which is bad, and all sodas are made crom carbonated water as their base.

Diet teas can be looked at, milk (and hey, add some Ovaltine if you want chocolate milk), Crystal Lite flavored water, and of course just good plain old water.

This gives you some options so that you don't drown in a sea of all the water you should be drinking.

The problem is NOT that you are eating too much

You know, of all the deadly dieting myths, the single worst one has got to be to "cut down on your portion sizes."

Look, do you like starving yourself?

I know I sure don't.

I can't STAND to be hungry. When I get hungry is when I'm the most likely to reach for the junk food ... which really kills a good diet.

The problem isn't that you are eating too much.

It's that you aren't eating often enough ... and maybe not eating enough period.

Every study I've ever seen has said that if you want to lose weight, then you should be eating every two or three hours.

And skipping breakfast is DEADLY to trying to lose weight.

By constantly giving yourself a snack ... a HEALTHY snack, you cut out the body's need for junk food.

You should be eating a decent breakfast (oatmeal, whole wheat toast, coffee) ... and a good lunch (not hamburgers either) ... and a good dinner.

But you should also be CONSTANTLY snacking on fruits and veggies (minus the ranch).

This will keep you satisfied ... but more importantly, it'll keep your metabolism running at full speed burning those calories off.

It's only when you begin to starve yourself ... to cut back on your portion sizes .... that your body goes into "starvation mode" and cuts your metabolic rate and stores fat as much as possible.

Do you want to be telling your body to store fat?

Then you've got to eat! Often!

Just remember, that you're supposed to be eating fruits and veggies. And yes, ladies, peanuts and avocados are good too. Yes they contain a lot of "fat". But they contain GOOD fats that will actually help you to LOSE your own fat and lower your cholesterol.

The FDA is lying to you

There are research studies, and there are research studies.

Some types of studies are done purposely to obtain a predefined outcome. These types of studies are junk.

Other types of studies are done to find the truth. In the arena of pharmaceuticals, drugs, health supplements, etc. they call these types of studies "double-blind and placebo controlled".

The FDA is trying to fool people right now into believing that ephedrine is dangerous.

Now I'm not saying it doesn't have side effects in a MINISCULE percentage of the population ... but the truth is that given its INCREDIBLE effectiveness, ephedrine is probably the safest of all the diet drugs out there.

Want proof? http://www.nhomag.com/01_v3_n3_3.asp

That's a snap shot of a double-blind placebo controlled study.

You see, how such a study works is one group of researchers first put a placebo into one bottle, and mark it A, and in the next bottle, they put the actual drug, and mark it B.

Then another group of researchers, who have ZERO contact with the first, randomly decide which bottle to give to which group at the start of the study.

The first researchers that sort the drugs have no idea which bottle will be given to which group.

The second researchers that actually decide which bottle to give to which group of study participants have no idea which bottle contains the placebo and which the real drug.

Only at the end of the study when the results are put together does anyone know.

That is done that way to prevent researchers from inadvertently affecting the outcome of the study.

And the end result is that for the very vast majority of people, ephedrine is safe if taken properly.

Yes, you will want to consult with a COMPETANT medical professional (note how I didn't just say a doctor) that actually has knowledge and expertise in the field before you begin any weightloss regimine.

But let me recommend that you go with a print out of the study just in case you end up going to an idiot.

Surprise, surprise

Well, this isn't exactly a "health news" sort of thing, but I am a marketing consultant.

I was just messing around, and I came upon a blog almost the same age as mine (meaning brand spankin new).

From what I've seen of the first post, this is a guy that knows what he's talking about.

I'm sure going to be keeping my eye on his blog. It's called No BS Insider Marketing Tips and it looks like it's going to be one to really watch.

The Absolute Beginning

This site is going to contain my own personal saga to lose weight. Over the years I've found there to be so much absolute JUNK out there, that I'm determined to forge a new road.

I'm determined to do things differently, and this blog will give me extra incentive to get done what I claim.

If I don't, there's a whole internet full of people to let me know I'm dropping the ball.

I'll be posting research results, health news, and my own personal story, right here on this site.
